Fatigue
Fatigue is the most common symptom among my patients. It may not be the primary reason why someone is going to see a doctor but it is a common complaint that most people share. If you continue to lack energy during the day- the remedy may be more involved than trying to get more sleep or drinking more coffee. In fact, you may find that you get the recommended 8 hours of sleep each night, but you don’t wake refreshed or you find yourself feeling tired early into the course of your day. If the pharmaceutical companies could find a way to treat fatigue in the form of a pill; they would, but there will never be an anti-fatigue pill because there will never be one cause of fatigue. The reason why one person is tired could vary greatly from the next.
What Causes Fatigue
As stated above there are many different causes of fatigue but my treatment tends to focus and start with the ‘why’. Why can’t your body produce ATP (the energy source for the body)? The following are causes of fatigue:
- Inflammation
- Poor blood sugar stability
- Poor fat metabolism
- Anemia
- Hormone imbalances
- Poor detoxification
How I Can Help You
My treatment offers a systematic approach to look at the variety of causes of fatigue and address them in a manner that makes the most physiological sense. For example, many natural health practitioners will always say in order to address fatigue, then you must support the adrenals. However, if the patient is inflamed, anemic, or eats a diet full of sugar then addressing only the adrenals will often lead to disappointing results.
